Bilal is a Post-doctoral research fellow at the ADAPT Centre in the School of Computer Science and Statistics at Trinity College Dublin. His areas of expertise include: (1) Learning Analytics and Open Learner Modelling - Enhancing student engagement in Online Learning and Supporting their learning (competencies) through visual scrutability and control; (2) Scrutable and Controllable Personalization - Enabling users to understand how their data is used within personalization and empowering them to control it; (3) Supporting Patient Engagement in e-Health - Visualizing patient health in a fashion where it can be scrutinized by patients.
