Provenance’s Eileen Culloty will participate in the Royal Irish Academy Oireachtas Science Pairing Scheme. The aim is to connect policymakers (TDs and Senators) with experienced scientists, providing parliamentarians with the opportunity to learn about the science behind issues of current concern; issues that have relevancy to constituency and Oireachtas work.
Equally, it introduces scientists to the workings of the Houses of the Oireachtas and the legislative and policy-making process. Eileen will be paired with Eamon Ryan (Green Party TD) on the topic: on the question of ‘Social media: the impact of social media disinformation and ways to stop the spread?’. The scheme will run from November 2019 to March 2020.
